4th Edition of the Mediterranean Dialogues – November 22 – 24 Rome 2018

Chairman Kamel Ghribi was delighted to participate in the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) 4th Edition of the Mediterranean Dialogues, held in Rome from the 22nd to the 24th of November 2018.

The MED dialogue principally centred on the theme of ‘Building Trust’ and the challenge of stability in the Mediterranean and has become a hub for high-level dialogue aimed at enhancing debate among policy-makers and experts concerned with the current trends and challenges stemming from the MENA region.

Kamel Ghribi was honoured to participate in the panel of the plenary session on ‘Shared Prosperity’ and share his thoughts in the framework of the ISPI MED Dialogues on the imperative of growth and the role of investments. The Plenary was held on Friday the 23rd and chaired by Karim El Aynaoui Managing Director of the OCP Policy Centre.

The 3-day think-tank Forum was held in the glorious setting of the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Rome and Enzo MOAVERO MILANESI, Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Barham SALIH, President, Iraq, made keynote speeches.

Among the guests of honour in attendance were the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, and Sergey LAVROV, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Russia attended a Special Dialogue in conversation with Paolo VALENTINO, Corriere della Sera.

RAI President Marcello Foà, Jens STOLTENBERG, Secretary General, NATO and Suzanne DIMAGGIO, Senior Fellow, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace were all guest speakers, while a special dialogue was held with Riyad MALKI, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Palestine in conversation with Joost HILTERMANN, Program Director for the Middle East and North Africa, International Crisis Group and Ugo TRAMBALLI, Senior Advisor, ISPI.
